Tim Weldon

Tim Weldon’s work is a vibrant culmination of his life experiences and boundless imagination. In his early twenties, Tim performed as a dancer in theater productions before unexpectedly finding a place in the music industry, working as a sound engineer for numerous live acts. This path led him to open his own recording studio, fulfilling a long-held dream of producing music. When the studio eventually closed, he returned to his first creative love—painting. His rich background in theater and music continues to shape his visual art, infusing it with rhythm, emotion, and storytelling that viewers can both see and feel.

Tim creates mixed-media pieces he calls “Combines,” which merge a variety of materials such as paint, sand, vintage ephemera, and found objects. He works across a range of surfaces including canvas, reclaimed wood, vintage signs, and old doors. The result is a body of work that channels a playful, childlike spirit while telling an autobiographical story of a dreamer—one who dances, sings, acts, and creatively engages with the materials at hand. Each piece is infused with a sense of joy and spontaneity, carrying the unmistakable message of “FUN.”

Inspired by outsider art from the Deep South and Europe, Tim’s work leans into an urban and contemporary sensibility. His current body of work—rich with the echoes of his past in music and theater—represents the full spectrum of his creative journey and is featured in this exhibition.
