is beautiful and has a place. There is
always a motivation to paint and I
am in love with the paint itself.”

Josiane Childers was born in the smoky mountains of North Carolina but grew up in upstate New York. She was very driven to
draw, paint, and learn from a young age. Josiane Childers continued her education in fine art with inspirational teachers from
Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, NY and completed her Bachelor of Fine Art at Purchase College in Westchester
County, NY. This also included a semester abroad in Amsterdam at the Academie voor Beeldende Vorming. She now resides in the
southwest with her artist husband and three German Shepherds. Josiane Childers works in acrylics on canvas as well as painting
on various metal sculptures that her husband and co-artist Justin West creates.

Justin West moved to Arizona with his family from upstate New York when he was twelve. He was prolific and driven from a young
age and involved himself in a variety of the arts. Justin West loves steel for its strength and resilience combined with versatility. He
says you can do anything with it and it will last. He is also inspired by its captivating history of raw ore forged of fire from the center of
the earth.
Every piece of steel he touches has been a part of this planet since its birth and will be until the end.

“I have been a sculptor all of my
life. I love the freedom of mixing
mediums. I have worked with
almost anything you can think of
from clay, plexiglass or fiberglass
and wood to concrete, drywall,
or steel. Whatever a sculpture
needs I can bring it in.”
